Season 3

The third season is the one we will look back on and wonder how we survived. The show itself was going through some growing pains. We were becoming more ingrained with the scene and its inherent politicking. We had to pick sides. The scene was being manipulated and whether we believed it or not, we had a responsibility to let people speak their minds about it. Meanwhile, we started reaching out to other cities seeking partners for a proposed network of like-minded streaming broadcasters. Those ideas were not met with great enthusiasm, but we amped up our inclusion of out of town acts on the show and made Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Detroit, and other towns regular stops on the weekly playlist - making sure those bands knew we were pushing them in Indy and asking them to spread the word to their tour-mates about what was happening in Indianapolis. We were also questioning whether or not we were "the right fit" for a lot of the bands that were appearing on the show. There were a couple of tense interviews, a few phenomenally flawed performances (we damn near pulled the plug on one particular band live on the air) and a couple of artists showed up to inform us their backing bands weren't coming.

We introduced our old friend Rachel Mare Jones as a semi-permanent guest host, and she brought a youthful mindset, a sly sense of humor, and a surprisingly gutsy, no-bullshit interview style to the show (listen to her interview with Grey Lamb in E134). With the scene we love entering a narcissistic stage, an anemic turn-out for our annual anniversary concert, and some long overdue soul-searching, the stage was being set for change, and the biggest one was to come before the end of the calendar year.

Oh, and one of us almost died and the other's marriage fell into disarray. We found out who our friends really were in Season 3.
